Onida is an electronics brand of Mirc Electronics, based in India. Onida became well known in India for its colour CRT televisions. It was ranked 51st among India’s most trusted brands by the Brand Trust Report 2013 India study, a research conducted by Trust Research Advisory and subsequently, in the Brand Trust Report 2014, It was ranked 27th among India’s most trusted brands. Onida was started by G.L. Mirchandani and Vijay Mansukhani in 1981 in Mumbai. G.L. Mirchandani is the chairman and managing director of M/s Mirc Electronics Ltd. He was educated in Colonel Brown Cambridge School and Harvard University.In 1982, started assembling television sets at their factory in Andheri, Mumbai. It was established as “Mirc Electronics” in 1981. Since then, It have evolved into a multi-product company in the consumer durables and appliances sector.
